2021 Maserati MC20 Release Date – Maserati will launch its first mid-engine vehicle at 2021, 16 years after Maserati MC12 is discontinued. It will be called Maserati MC20 2021 and the word has the power to come from the V-6 twin-turbo engine. Maserati is a front-engine company with a tradition, as most of the cars are great tourists with machines installed in front of the driver. However, the Italian company did offer several engined vehicles throughout its history.
Maserati’s new supercar has been rumored for many years now and has speculated on how it could be a spiritual successor to MC12. The Maserati MC12 is an exclusive vehicle, so this new supercar moves away from the idea. The V-6 engine is a powerful indication of the new strategy.
2021 Maserati MC20 Release Date
Maserati MC20 was originally expected to close in May 2020. However, a new coronavirus outbreak forced Maserati to delay the opening. It seems the supercar will close in September. It is still unclear whether it will be launched during car exhibitions, as all the events remaining for this year are in danger of being canceled.
2021 Maserati MC20 Engine
The 2021 Maserati MC20 will be powered by a completely new V-6 twin-turbo engine. Although it is developed specifically for this model, it will also be shared with other vehicles in the FCA lineup. My best guess is that Ferrari will also soon be launching a V-6 powered sports car. The machine will also find its way to the new Alfa Romeo and possibly a top-range version of the next-generation Quattroporte.
Engine V-6 will produce around 600 horsepower, which will make it almost as powerful as MC12 icons. And while the V-6 with 600 horses seemed laughed, don’t forget that the V-6 2.9 liters, twin-turbo developed by Ferrari for Alfa Romeo Giulia produce up to 533 horsepower.
2021 Maserati MC20 Hybrid
Later this year Maserati said it will launch a hybrid version of the existing Ghibli sedan which will also initiate the debut of autonomous driving technology of automakers. Maserati is expected to detail how its plans to switch to pure electric power and how electrification would radically change the ranks of supercars, sports cars, limousines, sedan. Next year, the second generation GranTurismo will be introduced as the first EV of Maserati, followed by the new GranCabrio in 2022.
Also in 2021, Maserati said it would introduce a new medium-size SUV to be put under the big Levante, although it has not been confirmed whether the car was intended for a fully electric powertrain.
2021 Maserati MC20 Price
Some say that MC20 can enter at a price of less than $200,000, but I think it will be more expensive than that. Maserati is not cheap and a medium-engine sports car. The old GranTurismo took more than $130,000, so MC20 might break the $200,000. Don’t be surprised this sports car goes into the McLaren 720S area and the Ferrari F8 Tributo with a sticker of about $250,000.
